General FAQ

Who cashes money orders?

A money order works very much like a check. You can cash it at a bank, a credit union or a store that offers check cashing services, like Check `n Go.

If you have an account with a bank or credit union, you may be able cash your money order there without paying a fee. Some financial institutions (but not all) provide this service to their customers at no charge. Other check cashers generally charge a service fee for cashing money orders.
